Loch is of the opinion that sustainability is not a lifestyle decision, it is the only way of living and making conscious choices every day. Therefore, there are never any collaborations which have been thrown into the dark; on the contrary, they are dreamy, nicely developed tie-ups with brands and designers which we admire and complement us in vision. Just recently, we had the honor of collaborating with Drawdeck, the premier art platform in Dubai that makes creative expression accessible and while simultaneously fostering a global community of artists.
Together, we launched the Loch x Drawdeck giveaway, which featured one very special piece: 'Rooted' by Omani artist Shatha Al Dafai. This collaboration was never just about things, it was about joining art with sustainability in generosity, giving something truly meaningful to our community that they could carry every day.
Why Drawdeck?
Drawdeck has been a pioneer in the scene of bringing art to our day to day life. With the handpicked selection offered, art enthusiasts have a way of accessing great work by new and established artists all over the world. To Loch, it was an intuitive partnership: the same way that Drawdeck is making art directly accessible to people in their homes, Loch is making mindfulness and sustainability directly accessible in everyday life. We have just one philosophy, it can be stated as follows, objects that we share space with have to be functional, inspiring, and that which have to be purposeful. We were attracted to the term rooting because it has such a good message related to being balanced, connected and strong.
Artwork: Rooted by Shatha Al Dafai
The bottle was sold as a limited edition with artistic work including a picture by Oman-born artist Shatha Dafai entitled ‘Rooted’. Her oeuvre is characterized by the messages of identity, culture and grounding, which is something Loch strongly believes in when it comes to thoughtful living. The design acts as a reminder that we, and even trees, must have roots. It can be in our values, our communities, our sustainable choices and that with roots we can grow and thrive. Drinking water out of this bottle is not only about hydration, it is a way of carrying the banner of building resilience and being creative.
The Giveaway experience
Using the Loch x Drawdeck giveaway, sufferers had an opportunity to win a sustainable Loch bottle with the exclusive artwork of roots, mixed with the art piece chosen by Drawdeck. The spirit rose to the head. Our communities (the well versed in eco-conscious lifestyle to the art lovers) united, not only with the prize, but the cause behind the message. It was an event of creativity, sustainability and the notion that useful objects are canvases to something larger.
Not a Simple Collaborating Process
This was not about numbers or entries to us as we connected with one another. In collaboration with Drawdeck and Shatha Dafai we could: Hold a feast of Art and Sustainability Collaboration i.e. demonstrating how creativity can take sustainable products to the next level. Provide a Stage to Local Talent- Shine a light on Omani artists whose work is loaded with culture and personal experiences. Create a Conscious Community Helping individuals to buy things that not only are practical but also are empowering.
Looking Ahead Our Loch x Drawdeck collaboration is but one in our journey to introduce sustainability into creatively inspiring environments. As we continue to progress, we can not wait to take up more associations with artists, designers and changemakers that trouble the discourse and restructure new dimensions to our work. Since Loch is not a mere hydration brand but a culture of living purposeful life, creativity and sustainability.
Final Thought
